The combined ACE-WIL External Relations and WIL Communications project involved the creation and implementation of a BC WIL Communications Plan to increase brand awareness, and a knowledge and understanding of WIL amongst employers and community partners. Tactics included advertising, website updates, events and developing legacy tools to assist ACE-WIL volunteers.

This project page contains resources to facilitate communication and collaboration between Co-op and Work-Integrated Learning (COWIL) Initiative project members and the British Columbia Ministry of Advanced Education and Skills Training.

This project aims to support British Columbia (BC)/ Yukon post-secondary institutions in the development, implementation, and evaluation of work-integrated learning (WIL) educational programs designed to prepare students prior to entering their workplace or practice setting.

This project developed: an inventory of IMS and CRM software used by all BC public PSIs, an analysis for effective software, explored a partnership with BCNET and developed recommendations for negotiating sector-wide software buy.

Through funding provided by the BC Ministry of Advanced Education and Skills Training, and in partnership with the BC WIL Council and six post-secondary institutions around British Columbia, the University of Victoria led this provincial initiative to develop resources to support Indigenous student access, retention, and success in WIL programs.

In order to increase the ability of practitioners/educators/faculty outside the Lower Mainland to access PD acumen and opportunities, this project seeks to identify, curate and develop a set of resources in the following areas (including but not limited to): • Pre-WIL Experience • During the WIL Experience • Post-WIL Experience • Remote Work & Learning

Identifying and working to remove barriers to students with accessibility needs that have self-selected not to participate in Co-op at Okanagan College, as well as supporting students already participating was the underpinning focus of this project.

This project provides an in-depth analysis of the data and feedback practices of ACE-WIL BC/Yukon post-secondary institutions across the lower mainland. The analysis shows that several approaches are used to obtain data about various stakeholders and practices regarding Work-Integrated Learning.

The main goals of this project are to: celebrate student success, engage with members, and promote hiring WIL students to employers. The project generated interview videos with the winning students and their employers, as well as an inventory of all the story submissions.

We explored how WIL and CEL literature intersect and diverge and completed an environmental scan of how other institutions integrate the WIL types. We highlighted pathways and modes of participation for community partners (across the WIL types). We used this process of exploration to further build a WIL Community of Practice at UVic that includes the full spectrum of WIL.

The BC WIL Employer and Community Partner survey collected data from WIL partners at 19 post-secondary institutions in BC between Fall 2020 and Spring 2021, to better understand the labour market’s ability to engage WIL students during the pandemic and post-pandemic. The survey provides insight on WIL employer/community partner’s experiences, interests and needs.
