Accelerating WIL at Selkirk College

Recognizing the benefits work integrated learning brings for students’ career development, employers’ human resources development, and community well-being as a whole, work integrated learning was confirmed as a key priority in Selkirk College’s renewed strategic plan. The Selkirk College Work Integrated Learning Hub (WIL Hub) responds to this priority by improving the quality and quantity of work integrated learning opportunities offered at the college. The project has four overall objectives: 1) enable each Selkirk College school to develop or improve curricular WIL experiences 2) advance teaching and learning through peer learning and a professional development program focused on WIL 3) build and improve employer partnerships to enhance the student learning experience and contribute to community development and 4) contribute to a sustainable institutional framework that will support long-term delivery and expansion of WIL programming.
