As we build our Work-Integrated Learning opportunities across all six campuses of the College of New Caledonia, we are interested in working with employers like you to offer students experiential learning opportunities related to the core competencies of the Workforce Development Program. The work term enhances student learning and you have an important mentorship role to play. The college offers an employer orientation and ongoing support during the work term. Join us as we work to build and retain our region’s future workforce. Contact the Education Developer for WIL for more information.

Students in Workforce Development programs are gaining Short Term Orientations and Certificates (STOCs), employability skills training, ‘Skills for Success’, and in some cases, introductory trades modules or longer-term occupational skills training (Professional Truck Driving (Class 1), for example).

Employer and work experience engagements may include:

  • Site visits
  • Employer presentations
  • ‘Mock Interview’ events
  • Short-term work experience placements

The majority of programming serves student populations which tend to be under-represented in post-secondary education.

Cohort schedules do not always start or end alongside traditional programs. Contact the program coordinator for cohort start and end dates.
