As businesses and organizations adapt to the demands of the pandemic, they’re looking at new ways of doing things. And that includes considering whether post-secondary students can help them pivot during the recovery. They know that students bring creativity, new skills and energy to an organization. However, bringing a student onboard may seem overwhelming, especially given all that’s going on.

This upcoming series of webinars will help demystify the process of working with WIL students, with insights from industry panelists who will share their experiences, suggestions from funders regarding grants and how to apply, updates from ACE-WIL about new resources, and more. These sessions are the perfect opportunity for those who want to build their business and their talent pipeline, but aren’t sure how to start or what their options are.

The three webinars will focus on:

  • HR Professionals: October 29, in conjunction with CPHR-BC, this webinar features a panel of HR professionals who can speak to the process of bring on a WIL student, and how to gain support within an organization.
  • Small- and Medium-sized organizations: November 26, featuring three businesses who have built a stronger organization by working with WIL students, with tips on how they’ve worked with funders.
  • Healthcare organizations: January 14, with a special focus on healthcare and the different ways WIL students are brought in to not only help the organization, but to also build a strong future workforce for BC.
