25 years of Co-op: Managing the things that change and the things that don’t!
In 25 years of helping students reflect through work integrated learning experiences, many things about the way we do our jobs have changed, such as posting jobs on bulletin boards to posting them on the Internet. But some things haven’t, like the need to advocate for our students and employers, and manage expectations and emotions through a stressful transition in a student’s life.
Join us as we explore how to leverage ours and our students’ emotional intelligence to navigate the workplace and labour market, and how to work with our tech-savvy generation of millennials to guide them through the ever-evolving workplace and market their unique offerings to employers. We’ll explore new technologies through a Tech Showcase, where we will see quick demos of some of the exciting new technologies our colleagues are using to engage students in the classroom, help job-seekers prepare stellar resumes, and manage student recruitment into our programs.
