For more than 50 years, the British Columbia Institute of Technology (BCIT) has been training the experts, innovators, and professionals who shape our economy – across BC and around the world.

Through our unique applied education model, BCIT students gain the technical skills, real-world experience, and problem-solving ability needed to embrace complexity and lead change in a rapidly changing workforce. Our curriculum is developed through close consultation with industry and delivered by instructors who have direct, hands-on experience in their fields.

Our co-operative education and work integrated learning programs incorporate work or industry experience with academic studies. These experiences give students the chance to apply their evolving knowledge and skills at work and bring new expertise into the classroom or lab.

BCIT programs and courses are delivered by our six Schools (School of Business & Media, School of Health Sciences, School of Computing & Academic Studies, School of Construction & the Environment, School of Energy, and School of Transportation). Our faculty also work closely with industry, delivering training, providing expert advice and helping to bring ideas to market.

Accounting Work Experience

The Accounting Work Term is a paid experiential learning opportunity whereby the student completes productive tasks related to the core competencies of the Bachelor of Accounting program. The work term enhances the education experience by integrating traditional academic studies with relevant work experience in a wide spectrum of industry sectors.
