Anna Jubilo – Coordinator, Graduate Programs, UBC

Meet Anna Jubilo. Anna was part of the first Arts Co-op undergraduate cohort at UBC in 1999. Along with her BA in English Language, she also completed her Master’s in Library and Information Studies at UBC. The best career advice Anna has ever received is, “Be continually open and excited about learning. This will open up opportunities that you haven’t even thought of.”

Anna came back to UBC Arts Co-op in 2008 as the Coordinator for the Graduate Programs. She works with students pursuing their Master’s of Library and Information Studies, Master’s of Archival Studies and Dual Master’s in Library, Information and Archival Studies as well as students pursuing their PhD degrees in English and History. She also supports the Master of Public Policy and Global Affairs students, along with her Director, Julie Walchli.

Three words Anna’s coworkers would use to describe her are organized, energetic and empathetic. Anna said the part she enjoys the most about her job is “working with a really great group of people.” As the only Coordinator for the Arts Co-op graduate programs, she also really enjoys the close relationships she gets to build with her students and seeing their transformations in terms of personal and professional growth throughout and after their degree programs.

In addition to her role, Anna is the Co-Chair of Pro-D Committee for ACE. She finds it valuable to be involved in ACE, continually meeting and learning from other professionals in the field. Finally, on a more personal note, Anna loves being active, spending time in nature, reading graphic novels, contemplating what else she can organize while drinking her morning tea or coffee and having impromptu dance parties at home with her husband and two young sons.
