President's Message
I hope you all had a great summer and got the chance to recharge for what promises to be a busy and exciting year ahead.

I’m pleased to share that our association was fortunate enough to receive funding through the provincial government’s StrongerBC: Future Ready Action plan, in the amount of $44,000 annually for the next three years. This marks yet another show of amazing support from the Ministry of Post-Secondary Education and Future Skills which was recently recognized through the WACE 2023 Employer/Partner Contribution award presented to Brian Train and Robert Douglas this past summer – very well deserved!
This coming year, those funds will allow us to delve deeper into the WIL Impact Framework, ensuring this important work continues. Simultaneously, we're focusing on improving our website and supporting our much-anticipated 2024 WILful Together conference. Speaking of which, the clock is ticking towards our proposal deadline of October 15th. If you're brimming with ideas but would like feedback on your proposal submission, come to a drop-in session being planned to support you – details to come. As I embark on my first year in this role, I'm filled with gratitude for our members’ dedication and enthusiasm. Thank you all for everything you do.

Submit Your Conference Presentation Proposals
Welcome Back to another Academic Year! The 2024 ACE-WIL BC/Yukon Conference “WILful Together” is now accepting proposals until October 15th. We're excited to have you join this dynamic event and we'd like to highlight a few essential points for your consideration: • Simplified Proposal Process: We offer a streamlined proposal submission form. This makes it efficient and less time-consuming for participants to send in their entries.
• Flexibility in Submission: We understand that sometimes the work is in progress. So, it's not necessary for proposals to represent finalized projects. If you have a compelling idea or plan that's still in its developmental phase but holds promise for completion by the conference, we're interested!
• Facilitate and Inspire: If you have a keen interest in a particular topic and wish to learn more, we encourage you to submit a proposal and consider being a facilitator. This will indicate your enthusiasm to lead a dynamic dialogue and gain insights from your WIL colleagues during the conference.
Whether you have research findings, practical case studies, new ideas, or innovative concepts to share, we welcome contributions from educators, practitioners, researchers, and all stakeholders involved in WIL. Submit a Proposal and Register for the Conference. Don’t miss out on this opportunity to shape the future of Work-Integrated Learning in BC. Submit your proposal today!
Got Questions about the conference and submitting proposals? Consider attending our "Q & A" Zoom session for guidance and insights. Tuesday, October 3, 12 noon Via Zoom
