President's Message

Greetings ACE-WIL Membership,

Thank you to all those who joined us at our Annual General Meeting on May 17th. We elected our new board and got to announce our Outstanding Contribution Member Award winner (more on this later in the newsletter)!

In May, we also held our PD session delivered by Dr. Candy Ho on the United Nations' 17 Sustainable Development Goals (SDG) and how we can use these as a framework to guide and support WIL practitioners, students, employers, and our institutions. Learn how you can access our online UN SDG Resource Pack on this topic through the recap for this session.

Our board met both in-person and virtually on June 10th--our first meeting since the pandemic began. We welcomed new board members and started planning the work we'll be focusing on as a board in 2022-2023. You can read about one of our board members and Membership Co-Chair Cristina Eftenaru in our latest installment of the Humans of ACE in this newsletter.

It was truly lovely for board members to gather and connect with each other in the same room. Some of us were even able to head to Steamworks Brewpub in downtown Vancouver for a bit of a social like old times!

I look forward to connecting with many of you at our next Town Hall on June 28th as we learn about insights from Northern and Interior B.C. COWIL projects.

Wishing you all an energizing summer term!

Warm regards,
Anna

Anna Jubilo (She/Her/Hers)
President
