IMPACT 2020: WIL Student Story Showcase
2020 was a year of change, adaptation and recovery for business and organizations around BC. Many of us have seen how WIL students bring the kind of skills needed to help their employers pivot during these turbulent times.
As part of ACE-WIL's strategic planning initiatives, we want to help employers to see the benefits of hiring WIL students to support post-pandemic recovery. IMPACT 2020: WIL Student Story Showcase is what came out of this strategic initiative.
IMPACT 2020 is offering a $250 prize for up to 5 students for 150 word stories about work-integrated learning students who made a positive impact, brought innovation, or contributed to a new initiative in the workplace in 2020. Students, employers or work-integrated learning coordinators/faculty can submit a story to IMPACT 2020.
We encourage you to share this opportunity with your institutional network of employers, students and colleagues:

Reminder: New ACE-WIL URL
In December, we announced our new URL: https://acewilbc.ca/. We’re all about WIL, so it was time to move on from the old https://co-op.bc.ca. Don’t worry, if you visit using an old bookmark you will be automatically redirected. However, if your program’s web pages include a link to ACE-WIL (and we hope they do!), please pass along the new URL to your web team so they can ensure everything’s up-to-date.

Talent Forward Program Launches
This January, the BC Chamber of Commerce and ACE-WIL launched Talent Forward, a program that seeks to raise awareness in the BC business community about the value of bringing work-integrated learning and co-op students onboard.
Through Talent Forward, businesses can access free one-to-one consulting from a trusted advisor at the BC Chamber who will guide them in finding WIL and co-op programs offered at public BC post-secondary schools. In addition, businesses can find information on hiring student talent and funding options through on-demand webinars and downloadable tip sheets. All of these services are available cost-free to businesses in BC.
