Diversity and Inclusion (D&I) Toolkit for Employers and Hiring Managers!

Students from International Pathways (SFIP) bring diverse and global perspectives to the workplace that can lead to an increase in revenue, innovation, and productivity. Do you want to equip your employer network with tools to support SFIP?

The ACE-WIL Research Committee is delighted to share a toolkit with six easy-to-use resources (i.e. checklists, tipsheets) that could help employers and WIL practitioners advance diversity and inclusion in WIL hiring.

The toolkit aims to:
  • Increase employers’ understanding of how to integrate D&I for SFIP in their workplace
  • Promote greater awareness and tools for navigating unconscious bias
  • Enhance intercultural awareness and competencies for recruiting, hiring and onboarding SFIP
  • Develop skills on how to better track success of SFIP initiatives
The toolkit can be accessed by clicking here. You can also watch a teaser video that summarizes the toolkit here.

Also, click here to watch some of Canada’s top employers talk about the unique value that SFIP bring to an organization and the steps taken by these employers to attract, hire and onboard SFIP.

Survey: Workplace Discrimination Reporting Practices in WIL

As part of provincial project #118: ACE-WIL BC- EDI Resource Hub, we are conducting a short 3-question survey to better understand managing various strategies you might use when incidents of discrimination and/or harassment arise during a work term. While we understand instances of discrimination are nuanced and often require addressing on a one-on-one basis we are hoping to generate some strategies that might be shared out as EDI resources for ACE WIL. Through this short anonymous survey, we hope to understand the processes you use/have used while navigating such
incidents within your WIL work.

ACTION: Please click here to begin the survey. The survey will
close on March 29, 2021.

In case of any technical issues or inquiries about this survey, please
reach out to Akanksha Thakur at .
